This guide explains how to access the Remote Desktop environment from a Windows computer based on your local time zone.
Which Remote Desktop Server Do I Use?
- Central Time (CST): 172.24.16.11
- Pacific Time (PST): 172.24.16.12
Requirements
- Windows computer
- Network access to the internal environment (VPN if required)
- Valid Computer / Domain credentials
How to Connect (Windows)
- Click Start
- Search for Remote Desktop Connection
- Open Remote Desktop Connection
- In the Computer field, enter the IP address for your time zone:
- CST: 172.24.16.11
- PST: 172.24.16.12
- Click Connect
Login Credentials
Log in using your Computer / Domain credentials.
Username formats may include:
- PLASTIKON\firstname.lastname
Security & Certificate Prompts
You may see a warning stating that the identity of the remote computer cannot be verified or that there is a certificate error.
This is expected behavior. Click Yes or Connect anyway to proceed.
Troubleshooting
- Connection fails:
- Verify you are using the correct IP for your time zone
- Ensure VPN is connected (if required)
- Invalid credentials:
- Confirm your username and password
- Check that CAPS LOCK is not enabled
- Certificate warnings appear repeatedly:
- This is normal and can be safely accepted
